Tom Ford graduated with a PhD in Biomechanics (1998) from Auburn University before entering the University of Alabama Birmingham to complete his Physical Therapy degree (2000).   He has practiced therapy for eight years in a  variety of settings.  Tom opened Ford Physical Therapy in January of 2007, where he currently practices.

 Dr. Ford has fifteen years of teaching experience in Alabama at  the elementary school, middle school, and college levels.  He currently teaches continuing education classes, primarily on treating back pain, for therapists. 

Tom grew up with a father who taught in the Health and Human Performance Department at Auburn University.  Tom played, taught, and/or coached football, basketball, track, gymnastics, swimming, golf, baseball, weight training, soccer, and tennis.  He has had a lifelong interest and involvement in the safest and best ways to move in a wide variety of sports. 

His sports background and his teaching experiences add a valuable dimension to his therapy practice.
